The GridCard Alpha

19 Jan 2018

It's been an enjoyable couple of weeks as we've rolled out the digital form of a game that has been running for 20 years.

Some of you have played it in its pen and paper form for years, and some of you are coming to the GridCard concept for the first time. Either way, we hope you've had a good time so far!

This is just the start of something we hope can be an enjoyable way to watch sports and be invested in those games every week.

If you've been here for more than a week, you've already noticed changes are happening on a regular basis. Some changes are big, some are small, but all are jumping from freshly built code and up to the site for you to play very quickly.

That means things will be broken.  While we're also playing and finding things, your feedback in this early stage is crucial.

If you find something you like, something you don't like, something that's broke, or something that can be improved, send us an email:

Big Change This Week

With that said, there's a big change to the look of the website that went live this morning. This is a big step towards our beta release.

You'll notice a new way of laying out the "grid" that we think is more suitable for the web. Scrolling through that previous incarnation, especially on mobile, was difficult and cumbersome. We think this will work nicely, but let us know as you use it during this week what you like or don't like about it.

And also note that it did get built out pretty quick just to test it. There are color, sizing, and layout changes we want to make, so things should come together more over the next week or two.

One Final Note

Many of you have asked if you can start talking to others about GridCard. We love the enthusiasm, but we ask that you hold off for just a bit longer.

If you have one or two particular people in mind, go ahead and bring them in. But we're keeping this off of social media until we have a few more things in place. We plan on that being sometime before mid-March, so hopefully we can start talking about this by the NCAA Tournament.

Thanks again for trying this out and helping us test it. Looking forward to any feedback you have!

Pick your teams. Beat the spread. Live every game.
