The MSU Spartans--preseason's #1 ranked team--continued their steep slide out of the Top 25, losing at home in the Breslin to the Maryland Terrapins 67-60. After trailing most of the the game, Michigan State held a seven point lead with 3:35 left but then failed to score the rest of the way. Maryland's Anthony Cowan Jr. scored the last nine points of the game.
The Spartan's scoring drought helped Heart of a Hooligan (38) earn the GridCard win. Hooligan--a two-time PGT Gridder-of-the-Year--won his first Hamlin-Hopper but sixth ProGrid Tour of 2020, beating out rookie Sylas 51 and TechPicNic veteran Ricco1947 (33). Only three other players posted Qualifying Scores: dkropf (31), summerman (30), and NostraThomas (30).
