The fifth and final lead change of the second half occurred with just :33 left when Charlotte quarterback Chris Reynolds connected with Shadrick Byrd for an 11-yard TD pass, lifting the 49ers to a 31-28 upset of the Duke Blue Devils. After Charlotte had taken a 24-21 with 2:59 left in the fourth, Duke's Mataeo Durant ran 53 yards for a touchdown, but Reynolds went back to work and directed a 75-yard seven-play drive for the win.
The GridCard played tough, only allowing three Qualifying Scores. Kara (38) was King of the Mountain, followed by KMac (33), and Butch (32). It was Kara's third GridCard win of the year and her first King Kong (70).
