In St Louis, Rickie Fowler went out early and shot a 65, his lowest round ever in a major and sat atop the PGA Championship leaderboard for most of the afternoon. Late in the day, however, Gary Woodland posted a 64 to lead the first round, rebounding after a bogey on the first hole with seven birdies, shifting 88 GridCard points in the process. Heading into Thursday night action, several Gridders had a chance to be King of the Mountain, and--after the Mariners beat the Astros 8-6--four players had climbed the summit.
Big E (40), and summerman (40) each picked up his first Hamlin-Hopper--as did keyz (40) who also earned a King Kong for winning the GridCard Week (72)--his second, one point better than macs detail (40) whose GridCard Win was his fourth.
Only these four winners defeated the ProGrid Tour which was won by Teunesto (36) but overall, the GridCard played loose--almost half the field posting Qualifying Scores: GB55 (35), dkropf (33), Jeepcreeper (33), mac (33), Heart of a Hooligan (33), btninja (32), Hoffm133 (32), Kevin K (29), Tommy (31), and Nutmeg (31).
