Down by three and facing 4th-and-goal from the five, the Jets (-3) would normally have kicked a game-tying field goal and gone to overtime with the Giants (+3). But the new No Preseason Overtime Rule came into play and set the stage for an unlikely cover by the Jets.
After throwing a 29-yard TD pass to Denzil Mims early in the fourth, Mr. August, Chris Streveler connected with Calvin Jackson for the game-winner with 22 seconds left. Jet Bettors still had to sweat a PAT and survive a Hail Mary, but in the end, New York beat New York, 31-27.
