Five Downs Not Enough

8 Sep 2018

Every NFL game this year should have as an exciting finish as the first one on Thursday between the Atlanta Falcons and the World Champion Philadelphia Eagles. Trailing 18-12, Matt Ryan and the Falcons had first and goal with under thirty seconds left and no timeouts. Four incomplete passes later, the game appeared over--except it wasn't. A holding penalty on the Eagles gave Ryan one more shot with a second left. But when that pass also failed to connect, the Eagles had escaped with the victory, and GO BLUE (39) was still alive on the GridCard. The low-scoring TCU cover vs SMU sewed it up for BLUE who earned his second GridCard win.

One of the GridCard's leading scorers, ranvilld12 (38) finished second, and one of the GridCard's newest and youngest players, Nutmeg (37), took third. Rico (35), AK (34), and jocko (32) posted the only other Qualifying Scores as the GridCard played tough. No PGT player managed a QS but AFED (25) won the money minus the Rake.
